Great Bend’s defense stops forward progress.

The Great Bend Middle School 8th-grade football team dominated Dodge City Middle School offensively and defensively for a 28-2 victory.  

QB Daxton Minton threw for 142 yards and three touchdowns. Hayden Kelly scored two touchdowns off four catches for 84 yards. Jacob Hall caught two passes for 45 yards and one score. Ian Premer rushed for 26 yards and caught a 13-yard pass. Koehn Ribordy added a 3-yard score.

Hall had 10 tackles and a sack. Trenton Kern had nine tackles. Ribordy intercepted a pass. Other tacklers were Premer (6), 1 caused fumble; Kelly (2), 1 caused fumble; Karter Brown (2), and Fabian Guerrero (2).

“Our defense played a great game,” said coach Jason Duvall.  “We kept Dodge City off balance. We found a rhythm to move the ball.  I’m proud of our team and the work they’re putting in.”
