The Golden Belt swim squad is holding their summer sign-up this Sunday afternoon from 2–4 p.m. at Washington Grade School, located at the corner of Lakin and Washington in Great Bend.
GBSS is a competitive swim team that has been in existence in one form or another since the mid-to-late 1970s.
It is a competitive swim team with the opportunity to compete in at least six meets throughout the summer with more opportunities based upon a swimmer’s skill level.
The program is open to any child between the ages of 6 through 18 as long as he/she has the capability of swimming across the pool unaided.
It is important to know that we are not offering “swim lessons” however, the coaching staff will help to fine-tune stroke mechanics for the purpose of competing as a part of the team.
This is a great family activity, and we would welcome any returning or new members that would like to participate.  Our head coach is GBHS varisty boys swim coach, Steve Beaumont, who has several years experience with the program and he will be joined by four assistant coaches who have many years experience swimming with the program themselves.
If you would like additional information about the swim team, contact James or Debbie Kuhlman at (620) 793-5980.
