GARDEN CITY – Great Bend Panther Bryce Moore (622) earned medalist honors as the Panther bowlers rolled past Liberal's boys 11-0 in a Western Athletic Conference bowling dual. The Great Bend girls also swept Liberal 11-0 at Walnut Bowl.

Moore posted the three best games of 191, 204 and 227 for the second consecutive match. Moore said changing lane conditions were a constant challenge.

"I was pretty pleased with my performance today," Moore said. "I had to use three balls because the lanes broke down pretty fast. I switched before my third game and stuck with it. It was a very hard shot today. It was a rough day for everyone."

The defending Western Athletic Conference champions scored a 2,623 total with a 2,136 series. The Panthers swept the series, 713-559; 746-562; 677-524; and three Baker games 159-126; 182-131; and 146-105.

Runner-up Corbin Stanley (499), third-place Dalton Murphy (486), fourth-place Evan Shell (482), fifth-place Ashton Ensley (474) and 10th-place Dalton Dicks (335) rounded out the scoring.

Great Bend coach David Feldbauer said it was a good learning experience because changing conditions required bowlers to adjust on the run.

"We struggled big-time. Everyone needed to move their spot quicker to keep their scores up," Feldbauer said. "We talked all day about adjusting and moving their spot. It was tough lane conditions."

Great Bend’s Paige Wagner (495) earned medalist honors with games of 149, 145 and 201.

Wagner solved her lane riddle in her third game with a 201 series. She finished her first Baker game with three strikes for a 18-pin victory. She followed with two strikes and three strikes to finish Baker games on a high note.

"I was missing my mark today," Wagner said. "I moved a couple boards left and moved my mark a little. It took my two games to figure it out."

Other players were runner-up Aliyah Fryberger (462); third-place Lexy Fox (460); fifth-place Kristy Wittig (400); seventh-place Zues Garcia (387); and 11th-place Nichole Griffin (368).

Great Bend swept the series, 583-554; 610-384; 647-611 and Baker games, 139-121; 187-107 and 178-149.
