The Great Bend Chiefs (26-15) play defending Class AAA state champion Ottawa (30-6) in the Class AAA American Legion State Baseball Tournament starting at 8:30 p.m. July 27 at the Great Bend Sports Complex. Ottawa defeated McPherson 13-5 and 7-5 to capture the Class AAA state baseball title to qualify for the Mid-South Regional at Conway, Ark. last year. Ottawa lost 13-2 to New Orleans and 4-2 to Conway, Ark. in the Mid-South Class AAA Regional last year.
