Panther bowlers own the day

Senior Night delivered a perfect finish for the Great Bend bowlers as they rolled past the Liberal Redskins at Walnut Bowl.

Last year’s 5A state runner-up Bryce Moore (659), second-place Cordell Stanley (615) and third-place Jordan Black (613) led a 10-1 victory for the Panther boys.

The Panthers swept the series 832-759; 819-708; and 900-752 featuring four 200-plus games. Cordell Stanley (244), Black (231), Moore (222) and Blake Sheets (203) posted 200 games.

The Panther girls swept the top three medals with Sarah Mehlhaff (547), Paige Wagner (538) and Shanaeia Mehlhaff (484).

Great Bend swept the series 600-531; 715-530; and 730-453.

Great Bend competes at the Western Athletic Conference meet Thursday at Garden City. The Panthers compete at the Andover Tournament Saturday.

 

The junior varsity girls swept Liberal 11-0 and the junior varsity boys earned an 8-3 victory.

Dalton Dicks (533), Evan Shell (498) and Dalton Murphy (478) finished in the top three.

Kristy Wittig (448) Tori Mitchell (371) and Abby Miller (370) swept the three medals.

The JV competes at the WAC Tournament Tuesday at Dodge City.
