LAWRENCE — The Great Bend Panther boys placed fourth (207) behind Salida, Colo. (163); Owasso, Okla. (170) and Lansing (179) in Saturday’s Rim Rock Classic cross country invitational. The Panthers placed fifth at 5A state last year.
Great Bend’s Sage Cauley (16:54.1) placed 20th followed by 21st Josh Tomlin (16:55.3); 35thh Collin Hammond (17:07.3); and 58thh Ryan Nicholson (17:21.2). The meet is the state cross country preview for 6A, 5A and 3A Kansas runners.
The Panthers girls placed 15th with 388 points. McKenna Esfeld placed 22nd (20:56.6) followed by 31st Emilia Diaz (21:19.1); 45th Emma Loomis (21:50.1) and 126th Hannah Loomis (23:21.1).
