Great Bend Quicksilver finished as state runner-up in the IFA state tournament at Salina. HAYS – Great Bend Quicksilver won five of six games in their most recent 14-and-under Battle of the Plains softball tournament.

Coaches Khris Thexton, Lyles Lashley and Josh Post features a lineup that included DeShawnna Bryant, Lauryn Davis, Bailey Jackson, Taylor Lashley, Faith Miller, MaKenzie Premer, Halle Post, Rylee Prilling, Callie Steffan, Paige Thexton and Teagan Walker. 

Quicksilver 14 has posted an 23-7 record in the first summer as a 14-and-under softball team.

COLORADO GATORS 11, QUICKSILVER 9  – DeShawnna Bryant and Callie Steffan each drove home two runs. Bryant doubled and delivered three hits. Steffan and Paige Thexton each delivered two hits. Rylee Prilling, Thexton, Kenzie Premer all drove in one run.

Colorado Gator Cameron Hardin drove home four runs and Samantha Silvia and Isabelle Alvarado each drove in two runs.

The Gators won the game with a five-run fifth inning after they scored five runs in the second inning. Samantha Silvia two-run double handed the Gators an 8-7 lead.

QUICKSILVER 11, RED HAWKS 5 – Quicksilver’s Bailey Jackson drove home two runs with a triple and two runs scored. Quicksilver's Prilling, Bryant, Faith Miller, Premer and Lauryn Davis drove home runs. 

QUICKSILVER 12, LIBERAL VENOM 0 – Quicksilver pitcher Callie Steffan struck out four batters in a two-hit shutout. Kenzie Premer scored four runs and drove home two runs. Halle Post drove home two runs. Driving home one run were Thexton, Bryant and Miller.

QUICKSILVER 12, WICHITA HERRICANES 1– Quicksilver’s Steffan stayed red hot on the mound with five strikeouts in a two-hitter. Thexton, Bryant and Lauryn Davis each drove home two runs. Prilling, Jackson, Premer and Steffan each drove in one run.

QUICKSILVER 5, CHAOS 3 – Quicksilver pitcher Bailey Jackson earned the victory with four strikeouts. Bryant led the offense with a double and two runs batted home. Taylor Lashley and Davis each drove in one run.

QUICKSILVER 9, COLORADO FREEZE 1 – Quicksilver pitcher Paige Thexton struck out two batters while yielding four hits. Rylee Prilling drove home three runs with two hits. Taylor Lashley and Halle Post each drove home two runs. Thexton and Bryant each drove in one run.
