The Great Bend 16U Quicksilver softball team (22-6-2) swept five games to capture the Great Bend Battle for the Bling Championship at the Great Bend Sports Complex.
Quicksilver team members are Kamryn Koelsch, Camdyn Post, Halle Post, Braelyn Turner; Katherine Mazouch, Josie Blevins, Rylee Prilling; Kya Behr, Chayla Prendergast, Alyssa McCauley, Denver Ringo. Quicksilver coaches are Carrie Minton, Jennifer Turner, Josh Post and Shawn Behr.
QUICKSILVER 3, HAYS HUSTLE 2 (1ST) — Quicksilver's McCauley doubled home Behr with the game-winning run. Behr singled and advanced to second base on Kamryn Koelsch's sacrifice bunt. Pitcher Prendergast struck out four batters to earn the championship game victory.
QUICKSILVER 4, SMF 2 (SEMIFINAL) — Quicksilver's Behr doubled twice and drove home Post and Mazouch. Behr and pinch runner Blevins scored fourth-inning runs without an RBI
QUICKSILVER 3, CLAY CENTER 1 — Quicksilver's Prendergast struck out six batters in a 3-hitter. Post scored on Prilling's first-inning sacrifice fly. Prilling tripled home Mazouch in a 2-run third inning. Prilling scored on a passed ball.
QUICKSILVER 16, HAYS HUSTLE (18) 0 — Quicksilver's Koelsch delivered a trio of doubles and drove home five runs. Prilling and McCauley each drove home two runs. Post and Turner each drove home a run. Pitchers Turner and Ringo combined for a 1-hit shutout.
QUICKSILVER 9, PRATT DIAMONDS 1 — Quicksilver's Ringo drilled a 2-run homer that scored Mazouch. Prilling tripled and drove home two runs. Pitcher Turner struck out eight batters in five innings.
