The Great Bend Middle School ‘A’ volleyball team finished its season with a 24-3 record.
The ‘B’ team finished with an 18-8 mark.
“These girls are very talented and have worked hard over the years to get to the level they are at,” GBMS head coach Weigel said. “It will be exciting to watch them develop their game even more and compete at the high school level.”
The ‘A’ suffered its first loss of the season straight out of the gate, going 2-1 at a Garden City quadrangular, losing to Ulysses.
The team followed that up with three straight quadrangular sweeps before placing third in their first tournament of the season, going 5-2 in Dodge City.
Again, the Lady Panthers rebounded, winning a pair of matches at home.
The ‘A’ team rolled through a tournament in Salina, going 3-0 for first place, then finished off the season with a 4-0 performance at the Hays Tournament.
The Lady Panthers ‘B’ team, coached by Rachel Harris, started off to a rocky start, but smoothed things out to finish strong.
The ‘B’ team’s season was highlighted by a first-place finish at the McPherson tournament, a first-place turn at the Hays tourney and a second-place finish at the Salina South tournament.
