HESSTIN INVITATIONAL
HESSTON — Great Bend's runners enjoyed a highlight afternoon with four first-place finishes at Thursday's Hesston Cross Country Invitational. The Great Bend girls placed first with seven points. Garden City was runner-up with 24 points.
Great Bend's girls earned three first-place finishes — senior Emilia Diaz (22:02.8); sophomore Eliana Beckham (22:42.3); and freshmen Diane Alvarez (21:59.8). Runner-up finishes were earned by senior Emma Loomis (23:29.4) and freshman Marissa Boone (23:01.1). Sophomore Addy Nicholson (23:35.8) and freshman Darcy Feist (23:27.5) each placed as fourth medalist.
Panther junior Kaiden Esfeld (17:28.3) captured first place with the second-fastest time behind SE of Saline's Dylan Sprecker (17:12.9) at Hesston Golf Course.
The temperature hit 88 degrees with winds under 10 mph.
