Coach Schmidt’s comments about the Bob Kuhn Classic: “Our kids over the years have been able to win every tournament on our schedule with one exception, we have never been able to win the Bob Kuhn Sr. Prairie Classic Tournament. We now have done so. We used to be happy to get a kid into the finals of this tournament, tonight we had five in the finals. The past couple of years our kids have proven to the this years team we that we could win this event, but to do so would take a total team effort. This weekend we got a total team effort, and are now able to take home the championship trophy and display to those coming up in the program that it is possible for a small town such as ours to win even at the biggest stage. Our coaching staff reminded our kids that as big an accomplishment that this is there is still tons of improvements that we must make if we are to bring home hardware from the State Tournament.”
