SOUTH GRAY 63, PAWNEE HEIGHTS 54 (1ST) — Pawnee Heights pushed perennial Southern Plains Iroquois powerhouse South Gray before losing 63-54 in Saturday’s championship game. Pawnee Heights all-stater Alec Carlson enjoyed a spectacular game with 32 points, 12 rebounds and four assists for the Tigers (10-3). Davin Hamby added 10 points. Carlson converted a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points in the fourth quarter.

Jorge Luperico (18), Dominic Martin (16) and Keegan Loewen (12) scored in double figures for South Gray (11-2) The Rebels were red hot with eight 3-pointers.

PAWNEE HEIGHTS 41, KIOWA COUNTY 38 — Pawnee Heights converted seven free throws and Reed Stedje scored a go-ahead basket on Davin Hamby's assist as the Tigers edged Kiowa County 41-38 for qualify for its first Southern Plains Iroquois basketball championship game.

The Tigers outscored the Mavericks 8-2 in the final four minutes. Dakota Ryan made three free throws and Davin Hamby and Alec Carlson each added two in the fourth quarter. Carlson scored 22 points.

Kiowa County's Sawyer Campbell scored 15 points and Brady Deterding added 10 points. Brock Deterding missed a 3-pointer to tie in the final seconds.

Minneola's Madison Denison scored 25 points. Minneola outscored the Tigers 27-6 from 3-point range.
