LARNED – Hoisington's Jordyn Boxberger converted four 3-pointers and scored 16 points to spark the Cardinals past Coldwater South Central 55-23 in Monday's Gene Keady Basketball Classic. The Cardinals (2-0) play South Central (2-0) in Friday's semifinal.
Mallory Mooney (14) and Ellie Crawford (12) scored in double figures. The Cardinals led 28-8 at halftime. South Central's Mea Alexander scored eight points.

LARNED – South Central's Jamie Sarmiento scored the game-winning basket as the Timberwolves scored the final seven points to steal a 45-43 victory over Hoisington in Monday's Gene Keady Basketball Classic. The Cardinals led 43-38 with three minutes left.
Sarmiento scored 21 points and Gavin Uhl scored eight points.
Hoisington's Tony Moore scored 19 points and Mason Martin scored 12 points. The Cardinals play Ellis (0-2) in Thursday's consolation game.
"That's a good basketball team. They're athletic and tough," said Hoisington coach Kyle Haxton. "But we let one get away. Tony Moore played extremely well. We weren't strong with the basketball. Other than Tony Moore, we've got to find guys who want the basketball."
