RUSSELL — Two-time state qualifier Samantha Colson swept the hurdles races and led the 400-meter relay to first place at Thursday's Russell Track Invitational. Colson won the 100 hurdles (16.28) followed by unner-up Kylee Hahn (17.54) and the 300 hurdles (52.68) followed by runner-up Hahn (53.76). 

Colson joined Sheena Gocela, Macy Hanzlick and Suzanna Schneider on the winning 400-meter relay (52.13). Hahn joined Addyson Mason, Alyx Lamatsch and Mallory Mooney on the first-place 1,600m relay (4:40.0).

Hoisington's girls scored 218 points to easily win the Russell team title. Other Cardinal first-place winners were Schneider, 100 (12.9); Mooney, 200 (29.38); Jaci Guthrie, 1,600 meters (6:46.06); and Shellamae Farmer, pole vault (9-0).

Hoisington's winners on the boys side were Spencer Mintz, discus (113-1) and Jarrett Shves, pole vault (11-6) and Karter Wolf, 3,200 meters (11:24.16).

Hutchinson Trinity (182) won the boys team title and Hoisington (134.7) finished runner-up.
