Indian wrestlers qualify three for substate

ULYSSES — Larned's returning state wrestling champion Samajay Alboyd (33-5, 160) will get his second shot against Buhler's No. 1 ranked Sam Elliott after losing 7-3 in Friday's regional championship match. Alboyd and Elliott will compete in the 4A McPherson substate Feb. 20.

Larned's other substate qualifiers are Gatlin Hoch (29-9, 132) and Carter Atteberry (27-7, 220). Scott City's Zach Rohrbaugh pinned Hoch (1:43) for third place. Pratt's No. 5 Kaiser Pelland defeated Hoch 7-2 in the semifinals. Goodland's Dexter Dautel edged Atteberry 7-6 for third place. Andale's No. 1 ranked Cayden Winter pinned Atteberry (1:27) in the semifinals.

Larned's other place-winners were sixth-place Jameson Smith (4-12, 106) and Josh Kramer (9-12, 170). Andale's No. 1 Hector Serratos pinned Corbin Weers (1:28) in a 126-pound match.
