Larned softball sweeps pair
LARNED – Larned’s softball team (2-0) enjoyed a dominant opening day with a sweep of Bucklin 14-4 and 12-2 Thursday.
LARNED 14, BUCKLIN 4 (G1) – Larned’s Camryn Ettleman led a 13-hit attack with three hits and three runs batted in. Emma Thompson drove home two runs with two hits. Kenzie Reinert scored three runs with three singles. Madison Reinert scored two runs with three hits. Karley Lemuz drove home two runs. Kenzie Reinert and Madison Reinert each drove in one run.
The Indians scored in six innings with five runs in the third inning and four runs in the sixth frame.
Bucklin’s Sydnie Jones drove home two runs.
LARNED 12, BUCKLIN 2 (G2) – Larned’s Lemuz struck out 11 Bucklin batters while yielding two runs.
Tegan Walker drove home four runs. Lemuz drove in three runs with two hits. Eowyn Hedding and Brooke Simmons both drove home runs.
Bucklin’s Mia Napierela drove home a run.
