In a game of runs the Larned Indians boys had the biggest and last run of the night as they edged by the Hutchinson Trinity Celtics, 57-53.
Trailing 45-37 going into the fourth quarter, Larned closed out the game on a 20-8 run as they improved their record to 4-1 while dropping Trinity to 2-3. It was the largest score difference in a game this season for Trinity as their previous four games had all been decided by two, or less, points.
Larned was led in scoring by Isiah Perez with fourteen points while Evan Skelton chipped in 11. Trinity was led by Dillon Wells’ 18 points and Pierce Billington wih 10.
Friday evening Larned will host the Lyons Lions in a Central Kansas League contest.
In a game dominated by turnovers, the Hutchinson Trinity girls raced past the Larned Indians 53-25 here Tuesday evening. The Celtics wasted little time in establishing the tempo and the dominance in the game as they raced out to a first quarter lead of 16-7.
Larned had trouble solving the Celtics’ full-court press and committed 31 turnovers for the game which contributed to only single-digit scoring in each of the four quarter, as the Indians never scored more than 7 points in any quarter.
Trinity shot 46% from the field and was led by Konor Brening’s 13 points. Brooke Racette totaled 12 and Mariah Hammersmith contributed 10.
Larned was led in scoring by Allyson Aldrich with 13 while Shaylene Shepherd backed that up with 6.
Friday evening the Lady Indians will entertain the Lyons Lions ladies in a Central Kansas League encounter.
Larned vs Trinity
