LARNED BOYS 57, HAVEN 52

HAVEN --  Larned’s Chance Sanger drilled seven 3-pointers and scored a career high 31 points as the Indians shocked league-leader Haven 57-52 in Tuesday’s Central Kansas League basketball game. Sanger scored 20 first-half points. The Indians outscored Haven 21-15 in the fourth quarter.

Sanger’s seventh 3-pointer helped hand the Indians a 53-47 lead with 64 seconds left. Haven responded with a Wyatt Carmichael basket and a Jamar Miller 3-pointer off Mario Quintero’s steal for a 53-52 score.

But Indian Mason Perez delivered the game’s signature play by bouncing the basketball off a Haven player. The Indians sealed the victory with four free throws. 

Larned (10-5, 4-1) moves into second place in the CKL. Trent Fletcher and Brayden Rupp each added nine points.  Haven (11-5, 4-1) was paced by Carmichael with 15 points.
