Called to Greatness basketball camp to start Monday

The Called to Greatness basketball camp hits Great Bend on Monday.
The two-day basketball camp run by former University of Kansas and Miami Heat player Wayne Simien focuses on offensive and defensive skills for all skill sets, as well as teaching biblical principles.
The camp will be held at the Panther Athletic Center. The morning session, which runs from 9 to noon, will be for third- through sixth-grade boys and girls. The afternoon session starts at 1 and wraps up at 4 for seventh through 12th graders.
Simien received All-America honors during his junior and senior seasons with the Jayhawks. He was the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year in his senior campaign.
Selected in the first round of the NBA draft by Miami, he was part of the 2005-06 team that won an NBA title.
Simien competed in Spain for a year before retiring from basketball in 2009.
KU retired his No. 23 jersey on Jan. 29, 2011.
