Quicksilver takes second in 12-and-under division

The 12-and-under Quicksilver softball team finished second at the Amateur Softball Association’s VIP Series Great Bend Tournament on Saturday at the Great Bend Sports Complex.
Quicksilver fell 7-2 against the Hays Heat in a championship game.
Quicksilver started in Pool “E” with the Larned Renegades, MudKatz and Hays Heat.
The 12-and-under team based in Great Bend started with a 7-6 loss against the Larned Renegades.
They fell to the Hays Heat 7-2 and MudKatz 5-1.
Hays Heat was the top seed out of the pool at 3-0. MudKatz was second at 2-1, Larned Renegades were third at 1-2 and Quicksilver was the fourth seed with a record of 0-3.
Quicksilver turned their fortunes around in bracket play.
They beat the Clay Center Bs 4-1 in a quarterfinal game, and topped the MudKatz 10-2 in a semifinal game setting up a rematch against the Hays Heat.
