LANGDON – Macksville’s Mayce Russell scored 28 points with nine steals and four assists as the Mustangs rallied past Fairfield 50-39 in Friday’s third-place Fairfield Falcon Basketball Classic.
The Mustangs (4-8) converted 11 of 14 free throws. Joselin Garcia added eight points. Macksville’s defense made the difference with 16 steals. Paisley Smyth led Fairfield with 14 points.

LANGDON — The Stafford Trojans were within one play of a shocking comeback after Ines Llanza-Anton and Mariah Burgey converted back-to-back 3-pointers for a 38-38 tie. Burrton's McKinsie Hoopes spoiled the miracle finish with a free throw with 10 seconds left. Stafford turned the ball over on its final possession at the Fairfield Falcon Classic.
Llanza-Anton scored 14 points and Emily Green scored 11 points. Burtron's Cassie Dunlavy scored 13 points.

LANGDON – Macksville’s Abi Ibarra converted three consecutive clutch baskets to spark the Mustangs past pesky Goessel 43-38 in Tuesday’s Fairfield Falcon Basketball Classic. Macksville played its best half of the season to outscore Goessel 32-19 after halftime.
The Bluebirds led 32-31, 34-33 and 37-36 for the final time on Kaleigh Guhr’s basket. But Ibarra came through with a 2-pointer and back-to-back 3-pointers for a 39-37 lead. Mayce Russell scored and Lupita Galan clinched the victory with a rebound basket for a 43-38 margin.
Ibarra scored 14 points and Russell (11) and Galan (10) made double figures for Macksville (3-7). Russell had seven steals and Joselin Garcia contributed seven rebounds, three steals and three assists.
Goessel’s Kaleigh Guhr scored 12 points.

LANGDON — Stafford's Emily Green was spectacular in a 54-45 loss to Little River at the Fairfield Falcon Classic. Green scored 14 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out five assists and had five steals. Ines Llanza-Anton led the way with 16 points.
Little River's Lily Boughfman scored 24 points and Alaina Eck added 11 points.
