LARNED – Hoisington's Leyton Haxton drilled a 3-pointer to ignite a 48-45 semifinal victory over St. John as the Cardinals qualified for the championship game of the Gene Keady Basketball Classic. Chase Steinert and Haxton added free throws after Haxton's 3-pointer led to a 46-45 lead.
Bralen Thompson hit a trio of 3-pointers and scored 23 points. St. John's Elijah Delp scored 14 points and Quade Smith added 10 points.

LARNED — St. John's 6-foot-7 Elijah Delp rescued the Tigers with the tying and game-winning free throws for a 43-42 victory over pesky Ellis in Tuesday's Gene Keady Basketball Classic. Delp scored a game high 24 points to dominate the paint.
The Tigers (1-1) trailed by four points in the fourth quarter before rallying behind Delp's 11-point final period. Angel Ibarra converted a fourth-quarter basket.
Ellis' Kaden Solorio scored 17 points and Toby Honas added 14 points.

LARNED – Spearville's Lancers finally shook off the pesky Larned Indians 46-37 in Thursday’s consolation game at the Gene Keady Basketball Classic.
The Larned boys closed the gap to 28-26 after three quarters. But the Lancers spurred by Easton Shenk's three baskets created enough room for the win.
Spearville features 6-7 Logan Hubbell, 6-2 Joshua Cox and 6-2 Josiah Mettling dominated the inside game. They provided inside scoring and caused numerous fouls by the Indians.
Spearville led 11-5 after one quarter until Larned rallied. Larned had 19 turnovers to 11 for Spearville.
"We’re getting better,” said Larned coach Luke Steinlage. “We had a good game plan and the kids executed it pretty well. But the turnovers killed us."
Spearville converted 17 of 33 field goals for 52% and 7 of 21 from the free throw line.
Spearville (1-2) was led by Easton Shenk with 12 points and Blake Werner added nine points.
Larned (0-3) made 12 of 27 from the field and 7 of 9 from the free throw line. Ian Orth scored nine points, Carlos Ibarra eight and Talon Reynolds seven.

LARNED — Hoisington's Bralen Thompson scored 26 points and Noah Dolezal scored a career high 19 points to spark the Cardinals past Bucklin 77=64 in Tuesday's Gene Keady Basketball Classic.
The Cardinals (2-0) outscored the Red Aces by 13 points to push their lead to 19 points in the fourth quarter. The Cardinals (2-0) play St. John (1-1) in Friday's semifinals.
Bucklin (1-1) was paced by Scott Price with 30 points, 20 in the second half. Andrew Bowman scored 19 points.
