ELLINWOOD 78, OTIS-BISON 23 — Ellinwood's southpaw sharpshooter Brynn Widener was on target with 28 points and five 3-pointers en route to a 78-23 victory over Otis-Bison. The Eagles led 49-7 at halftime.

Mette Maxwell chipped in 14 points. The Eagles converted nine 3-pointers. Central Prairie League champion Ellinwood (22-1, 9-0 CPL) earns the No. 1 Smith Center seed and plays Hutchinson Trinity (1-20) Feb. 26.

Otis-Bison's Allie Smith scored nine points. The Cougars (6-16, 2-7 CPL) play at Wallace County (8-12) Feb. 24 in the 1A Colby substate.

OTIS-BISON 54, ELLINWOOD 46 — Otis-Bison's boys surprised Ellinwood 54-46 by outscoring the Eagles 15 points after trailing by 10 points in Friday's Central Prairie League basketball game. 

Cougars Kelson Juno (15), Maddox Firebaugh (12), Louis McVey (11) and Kolten Cory (10) scored in double figures and Cory hauled down 11 rebounds. The Cougars (12-11) play Pawnee Heights Feb. 23 in the 1A Colby substate.

Ellinwood's Drake Hosman scored 22 points with six 3-pointers. After scorching the home nets recently, Ellinwood had a cold overall shooting night.
