CLAFLIN — Brodie Crites enters his fourth year as Central Plains’ starting quarterback with an outside chance to become the Oilers’ career passing leader.

The school record is held by Brodie's older brother, Braedan, who threw for 5,364 yards.

Brodie has passed for 3,673 career yards and 56 touchdowns. He completed 79 of 142 passes for 1,395 yards and 19 touchdowns last season with just four interceptions.

Crites helped the Oilers to a 2024 8-Man Division 1 state runner-up finish 46-0 to Hoxie. He'll start at defensive back.

He earned first-team All-Central Prairie League honors last season and has received honorable-mention All-Eight-Player Division I recognition from KSHSAA Covered in each of the past two seasons. Crites is a 1,000-point scorer in basketball and helped the Oilers finish fourth at 1A-Division 1 state last spring.
