CLAFLIN — Central Plains Oiler Alex Hickel shot 5-under-par 67 (32-35) to capture medalist honors at Monday’s Central Plains Oiler Golf Invitational at Claflin Golf Club. Oiler Brett Thompson (89) placed fifth. 

Hoisington’s Drew Nicholson placed third with an 82 (42-40) to lead the Cardinals to first place (367) in the team scores. The Cardinals also counted scores by eighth-place Braeden Hopkins (92), Noah Dolezal (95) and Paul Rhiza (98)
