Oilers compete at Lindsborg

LINDSBORG – Central Plains Oiler No. 1 singles Lauren Oeser defeated Ellsworth’s Felis De La Cruz 8-1 for first place at Thursday’s Smoky Valley Tennis Tournament. Chapman’s Elyssa Frieze beat Oeser 8-0 in the semifinals.

No. 2 doubles Ryann Metro/Grace Lamatsch finished fourth with an 8-3 loss to Smoky Valley’s Kayla Norberg/Lily Heline,

Central Plains No. 2 singles Charlee Schlessiger and No. 2 doubles Kylie Kempke/MacKenzie Foulger both placed sixth. Chapman’s Meredith Kuntz downed Schlessiger 8-2 for fifth place. Clay Center’s Liz Larson/Isley Lee beat Kempke/Foulger 8-1 for fifth place.

Ellsworth (54) won the team title ahead of Hesston (50). The Oilers (35) finished sixth.
