TOPEKA — Last year’s 321A girls tennis runner-up Emily Ryan of Central Plains (23-0) will qualify for state tennis at the WaKeeney tennis regional Oct. 5-6. Ryan finished with a 33-3 record and lost 6-2, 6-0 to Kansas City Christian’s Lilly McNeill in the championship match.

McNeill and Ryan would likely earn a rematch at the 321A state tournament Oct. 13 at Pratt’s Walker Blake tennis Complex. Hoisington returns regional qualifiers Audrie Harms, Bailee Bachar and Emma Moooney to compete at the WaKeeney tennis regional. 

Great Bend will compete oct. 6 at the 5A Valley Center regional. The Panthers feature veterans Jessica Nieto, Alexis Folkerts, Remi Ingram and Abbie Moyers. 

Ellinwood, Larned and St. John players will attempt to qualify at the Tribune regional Oct. 5-6. Larned returns No. 1 singles Kristin Anderson and No. 1 doubles Macy Haas and Katelynn Sanger. Ellinwood returns regional qualifiers Whitney Hammeke, Monica Hammeke and Taryn Robl.
