ELLINWOOD GIRLS 51, PRATT 46  – Ellinwood's Mya Maxwell preserved a 51-46 semifinal victory over Pratt with three free throws in the final seconds. Pratt missed three chances to take the lead, trailing 47-46. Kyra Johnson missed a free throw. Johnson and Lexi Walker missed field goals after steals and Walker missed two free throws after a third consecutive steal in the final minute.

Maxwell scored 21 points and converted five 3-pointers. Freshman sensation Brittany Simpson added nine points. Ellinwood plays Otis-Bison in Saturday's championship game. Ellinwood (8-3) lost in last year's semifinal to Pratt. Pratt's Danielle Staats scored 21 points and Lexi Walker scored 13 points.

OTIS-BISON GIRLS 41, VICTORIA 26 – Otis-Bison's Maddie Wiltse dominated inside with 14 points and three blocked shots in  a semifinal victory. Cristen Trapp scored 11 points with three assists. Lauren Maier chipped in eight points and three assists.

The No. 8 ranked 1A ranked Cougars (11-0) return to the Hoisington Winter Jam championship game against Ellinwood. Otis-Bison lost to Pratt in last year's championship game. 

Victoria (4-7) was sparked by Brooklyn Kuhn with nine points off a trio of 3-pointers. Fearless sparkplug Kaitlyn Windholz contributed eight points while attacking the basket against the Cougars' height

LACROSSSE BOYS 46, ELLINWOOD 40 — LaCrosse drilled eight 3-pointers, but the Leopards won the hard-fought game with driving field goals by Hunter Morgan and Chase Schmidt for a 46-40 semifinal victory over Ellinwood. LaCrosse converted 8 of 31 3-pointers to ouscore the Eagles 24-6 from long range.. 

Ellinwood led 38-37 with Ryan Niles banked home a 3-pointer. The Eagles saw a potential 3-point play by Britton Dutton nullified on a charging call and David Hammeke missed a layup to that would've led to a potential 3-point lead.

HOISINGTON BOYS 55, ELLSWORTH 24  — Drew Nicholson scored 22 points as the Cardinals roared past Ellsworth 55-24 in Friday's Cardinal Jam semifinals. The Cardinals led 21-6 after one quarter behind Nicholson's 14-point quarter.

"Our defense has been relentless," said Hoisington coach Kyle Haxton. "We had guys buying into our defensive game plan."
