Panel Discussion on Sports

The Rice County Historical Society’s Coronado Quivira Museum will host a panel discussion celebrating sports and the way sports build and unite communities at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Coronado Quivira Museum, 105 West Lyon in Lyons. This panel discussion will be moderated by Sterling College History Professor Doug Boardman. The panel members are Junior Soeken, Jackie Rogers Schafer, Shane Cordell, and Bud Kelly.   
The panel discussion is part of Hometown Teams of Rice County, a project supported in part by the Kansas Humanities Council. Another part of the project is a 600 square foot exhibit featuring past Rice County teams and players, sports equipment, clothes, and mascots of seven Rice County schools.
