Panther boys roll past Garden City

GARDEN CITY – Medalist Bryce Moore (694—268-210-216) led the Great Bend Panthers to a 9-2 victory over rival Garden City in Tuesday’s Western Athletic Conference dual bowling meet.

A.J. Roberts backed up Moore with a runner-up finish (626—217-200-209). Dalton Dicks (217) and Dalton Murphy (207) recorded 200 games.

All three series games were decided in the 10th frame.  The Panthers won the first two games 829-820 and 819-803. Garden City won the third game 815-803. Great Bend scored 2,451 pins to edge Garden City ( 2,438) by 13 pins.

Two of the Baker games went down to the final frame. Great Bend won the Baker games 251-150 and 161-151 and tied the first game 161-161.

GREAT BEND GIRLS – The Garden City girls swept past Great Bend 11-0. The Buffaloes featured six of the top seven finishers.

The Buffaloes easily won three games, 835-748; 786-672; and 888-743. Garden City’s Angie Leeper posted a 639 series (210-205-224). Garden City scored 2,407 and Great Bend 1,822 pins, 304 pins lower than the first Garden City match.

Panther Paige Wagner placed fourth (532—183-146-203), 142 pins lower than her first meeting with Garden City.
