WICHITA — Great Bend captured the prestigious elite 3,200-meter relay (8:20.95) with Evan Hammond, Josh Tomlin, Alex Smith and Jesus Sanchez competing at Friday’s Wichita State Shocker Prestate Challenge.
Great Bend Panther Sage Cauley recorded a career-best time (10:05.95) while winning the boys 6-4A 3,200-meters.
Great Bend Panther McKenna Esfeld enjoyed a strong day with a runner-up 2,000m steeplechase (8:35.98) and a third-place 800 meters (2:33.2).
The Panther boys finished runner-up in the 6-4A 1,600-meter relay (3:35.47) with Korbin Widiger, Evan Hammond, Bryce Brown and Dalton Miller competing.
Great Bend’s girls placed runner-up in the 3,200m relay (10:45.25) with Emma Loomis, Olivia Rugan, Emilia Diaz and McKenna Esfeld competing. Candice Smith placed third in the long jump (15-53/4).
Evan Hammond placed third in the 800 (2:04.49).
Ellinwood’s Ashtin Klepper (5:51.22) placed third in the girls 3-1A 1,600 meters.
