Panthers open bowling season

WICHITA – The Great Bend girls placed third and the Panther boys finished ninth Saturday in Saturday’s Wichita Carroll Baker format tournament at West Acres Bowling Center.

Great Bend’s Baker lineup was Kristy Wittig, Aliyah Fryberger. Garcia, Lexy Fox, Paige Wagner and Nichole Griffin.

Wichita Carroll’s girls placed first (2,309) followed by Garden City (2,226). The Panthers shot 2,217 over 12 games and averaged 173. The Panthers scored high games of 209 and 201.

Garden City’s boys captured the team title with a 2,666 total followed by Wichita Kapaun-Mt. Carmel (2,622).

Great Bend’s Baker lineup featured Jalen Daniels, Evan Shell, Dalton Murphy, Corbin Stanley, Bryce Moore and Caleb Murphy.

Great Bend posted high games of 202, 205, 223 and 230 and averaged 191.

The Panthers travel to Dodge City Thursday.
