Panther golfers compete at Hutchinson

HUTCHINSON — Great Bend’s Cailee McMullen (49-46—95) placed 25th in the Hutchinson Invitational Golf Tournament Sept. 27 at Carey Park Golf Course.

The Panthers (421) placed 15th in the 17-team field. Other Panthers who counted in the team score were Kaylee Reiser, 36th, 97; Ashlyn Harbaugh, 80st, 109; and Azha Elliott, 98th, 120.

Defending 4A state champion Topeka Hayden (343) placed first ahead of runner-up Maize South (349). Wichita Trinity’s Hanna Hawks (33-35) birdied five holes and shot 3-under-par 68 to edge teammate Madison Slayton (38-33—71) by three strokes. Last year’s 4A state champion Caroline Setter (37-35—72) of Topeka Hayden placed third.
