Panthers' swimmer Kennedy excels at Salina

SALINA — Great Bend Panther Kasey Kennedy returned to action with a vengeance with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.69) and a runner-up finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.01) at the Salina Swimming Invitational Wednesday.

Panther Adam Hall placed third in the 100 freestyle (59.79) along with a sixth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (25.48).

The Panthers earned fourth-place finishes in the 200 medley relay (2:03.41) with Andrew McQuade, Matthew Williams, Kennedy, and Hall; and in the 400 freestyle relay (4:49.56) with  Williams, Jordan Sander, Kale Mermis and Joshua Sharpe.

Great Bend (304) placed fourth with a season-best score.
