Panther swimmers win 400 relay

HAYSVILLE – Great Bend’s 400-yard freestyle relay (4:22.56) earned the Panthers’ lone first-place medal at Thursday’s Campus Swimming Invitational. Josephine Mazouch, Ally Howard, Ellyson Somers and Emilee Hall competed on the first-place relay.

The Panthers (490) finished runner-up behind first-place Campus (579). Great Bend’s girls recorded 21 season-best times. The Panthers return home Tuesday for the Great Bend Invitational.

Great Bend earned six runner-up finishes. Second-place medal winners were Howard, 200 IM, *2:55.31; and 500 freestyle, *6:49.71; Mazouch, 50 freestyle, 27.92; Somers, 100 butterfly, 1:13.16; Hall, 100 freestyle, 1:02.79; and the 200 medley relay (*2:11.73) with Hall, Somers, Howard and Mazouch.
