Panther track sweeps five events

SALINA — Great Bend’s Josh Tomlin swept the 1,600 (4:35.68) and 3,200 (10:09.9) and the Panthers won five events at Friday’s Salina Central Track Invitational.

The Panthers swept the distance races as Jesus Sanchez won th 800 (2:00.1) and the Panthers won the 1,600-meter relay (3:31.47) with Evan Hammond, Bryce Brown, Sam Ryan and Jesus Sanchez competing; and the 3,200-meter relay (8:28.94) with Evan Hammond, Sage Cauley, Alex Smith and Jesus Sanchez competing.

Runner-up finishes were earned by Evan Hammond, 800 (2:01.86); Sage Cauley, 3,200 (10:19.38); and McKenna Esfeld, 800 (2:25.4).
