Panthers compete at Garden City tennis

GARDEN CITY – Great Bend’s No. 2 doubles Maddie Siefkes/Olivia Boone placed fifth with a 6-1 victory over Hays High’s Jadyn Younger/Brynn Zweifel in Tuesday’s Garden City junior varsity tennis tournament.

No. 1 singles Fabiola Lara placed 10th in a 6-5 (7-2) tiebreaker loss to Scott City White’s Kadence Allen. No. 2 singles Isabel Castruita finished 12th with a 6-3 loss to Scott City White’s Shelby Massaglia. No. 1 doubles Beth Hammeke/Kennedi Stalcup placed 10th with a 6-3 setback to Garden City White’s Kelsey Kimbrel/Phoebe Juhl.

Great Bend (31) placed 11th. Scott City Blue (55) edged Garden City White (54) for the team title.
