SALINA – Great Bend’s No. 1 singles Paige Stacey stayed hot with a runner-up finish at Thursday’s Salina South tennis tournament. Junction City’s Hannah Micheel downed Stacey 8-3 in the championship match.

The Panthers (23 points) lost four tiebreakers and finished seventh.

Panther Clarice Snapp (1-3) placed 14th with a 8-7 (7-3) loss. Maddie Siefkes/Olivia Boone (2-2) finished 13th with a 8-4 win over Salina Central’s Lexi Foos/Lilly VanZant. Mackenzie LaViolette/Kylie McCormick (0-4) placed 16thh with a 8-7 (7-3) loss to Buhler’s Danyka Sutton/Payton Barnes.
