Panther golf places seventh at Hays.

MCPHERSON — It was showdown time as Great Bend's singles and doubles players met in the final round of Tuesday's McPherson Doug Gayer Tennis Invitational.

Great Bend's Kaylin Wahlmeier defeated teammate Lakyn Smith, 8-3 for ninth place in singles. Great Bend's  Clarise Snapp/MacKenzie LaViolette defeated teammates Danica Strickland/Kylie McCormick 8-6 for 15th place in doubles. Great Bend scored 18 points to tie Liberal for seventh place.

Garden City's Sydney Nanninga defeated Goddard Eisenhower's Rachel Davis 8-4 for first place in singles. McPherson's Riggs Kuhn/Brodie Kuhn defeated Hutchinson's Tia Hines/Libby Jackson 8-6 for first place in doubles. McPherson (57) won the team title over runner-up Goddard Eisenhower (44).
