SPEARVILLE – Kiowa County's Brady Deterding scored the final six points, including the game-winning free throws as the Mavericks rallied for a 60-58 victory over Pawnee Heights in the Southern Plains Iroquois League basketball tournament. Deterding made two field goals and two free throws in the final minutes.
The Tigers led 57-54 when Adam Hands converted two free throws with four minutes left. But the Tigers committed two turnovers, missed two shots and made 1 of 2 free throws in the final minutes. Tigers Alec Carlson and Dakota Ryan missed shots with a 58-58 tie.
