OTIS-BISON GIRLS 56, LACROSSE 22 — Cougar Maddie Wiltse scored 27 points with eight rebounds and four assists to spark Otis-Bison’s girls past LaCrosse 56-22 in Tuesday’s Hoisington Winter Jam.

Cora Anderson scored 16 points with seven rebounds. Cristen Trapp dished out five assists to go with five rebounds. 

The Cougars (11-0) roared to a 24-2 lead after one period keyed by 10 of 17 shooting. Taylor Marvin led the Leopards with nine points. The Cougars play two-time defending champion Russell in Friday's 1 p.m. semifinals.

ELLINWOOD GIRLS 48, HOISINGTON 45 – The Hoisington girls played their best basketball game of the season at the Hoisington Midwinter Classic.

Kenzie Wolf and Kelsi Dalton converted late-game 3-pointers and Jaci Guthrie added a clutch shot to spark a rally.

But Ellinwood survived, thanks to two clutch free throws by  Mary 

Dimitt and seven fourth-quarter points by Maddy Ward.

Ellinwood (7-4) earned a hard-fought victory with Mya Maxwell scoring 17 points and Ward adding 15 points and a handful of blocked shots.

Hoisington (2-7) was paced by Dalton with 17 points. Keeley Wolf, Suzanna Schneider and Maleigha Schmidt added seven points apiece.

RUSSELL GIRLS 55, VICTORIA 46 — Victoria native Tiffany Dortland and Janae Schulte each scored 15 points to power Russell past Victoria 55-46 in Tuesday's first-round. The two-time defending champions play Otis-Bison in Friday's  1 p.m. semifinals.

PRATT GIRLS 44, ELLSWORTH 35 — Pratt’s girls outscored the Bearcats 7-1 in the final minutes to pull away for a 44-35 first-round victory. Pratt’s Allisan McGowan scored 12 points and Kaitlyn Rasmussen scored 11 points.

Ellsworth’s Jaide Talbott scored 12 points and Lakyn Tenbrink added 10 points. Talbott and Kenzie Stroede hit 3-pointers to pull the Bearcats within 37-34.
