LARNED — First-year Larned football coach Jason Duvall didn't win his first game, but he was proud of his Indians.

Pratt survived Larned's upset bid 20-14 by holding off the pesky Indians in Friday's 3A District 6 football opener. Pratt (2-2, 1-0 District) drops Larned to 0-4, 0-1 District.

Larned quarterback Owen Shaver scored on a 2-yard run and completed a 6-yard touchdown pass to Zev Cox.

Pratt quarterback Max Thimesch completed 12- and 13-yard scoring passes to Caleb Strong after an opening 20-yard touchdown pass to Sebastian Beach.
