ABILENE — Traveling to Abilene to take on the Longhorns, the Great Bend Middle School 7th grade boys basketball team knew they were in for a competitive matchup. Abilene held off the Panthers 41-36.

The Great Bend Middle School B team grabbed an early lead and never looked back in a 32-15 victory. Emanuel Preito scored 11 points, Cayden Scheuerman and Blaine Ramos each scored six points. The B team is 2-0.
