JOHN BOYS 69, NORWICH 26 — Quincy Smith and Chase Fisher each scored 14 points as No. 4 ranked 1A St. John tuned up for a titantic showdown at No. 1 Central Plains with a 69-26 non-league basketball victory. St. John (10-3, 3-0) and Central Plains (13-0, 3-0) are tied for first in the Central Prairie League.
Braden Witt grabbed 10 rebounds. Smith and Mason Osborne each had four assists. Smith and Chase Fisher each had four steals.

MACKSVILLE BOYS 67, LACROSSE 47 — Macksville’s Kody Mead scored 19 points to lead four players in double figures as the Mustangs roared past LaCrosse 67-47 in Tuesday’s Central Prairie League basketball game.
Macksville (10-4, 3-2 CPL) also placed Kaleb Lickiss (18), Kreed Parr (10) and Karson Waters (10) in double figures. Lickiss grabbed eight rebounds. Trevor Freeman dished out seven assists and Parr and Waters had five assists. Mead had four steals.

SMOKY VALLEY BOYS 58, HOISINGTON 48 — Hoisington’s Drew Nicholson scored 20 points in the Cardinals’ hard-fought Central Kansas League loss to Smoky Valley. Nickerson visits Hoisington (5-9, 1-3 CKL) Friday. Isaac Prosser grabbed nine rebounds and Mason Haxton had three steals.
Hoisington sliced a 12-point lead to lead, but the Vikings; 9-0 scoring run in the fourth quarter sealed the victory.
