NESS CITY — No. 1 ranked Ness City roared past Ellinwood 74-40 behind 18 points by Devin Brown in a Central Prairie League basketball game. The Eagles led 27-9 after one quarter and 50-21 at halftime.
Ness City (15-1, 5-1 CPL) is one game behind St. John for first place. Ellinwood (5-11, 1-4 CPL) was paced by Zack Jacobs with 12 points.

STOCKTON — Hoisington’s Brenner Donovan scored a career high 35 points, but Stockton’s 25-point fourth quarter rallied past the Cardinals 64-60 in Monday’s non-league basketball game. Donovan converted 15 of 27 field goals.
The Cardinals (6-9) led 45-39 after three quarters, but were outscored 25-15. Stockton (7-8) swung the momentum with a 15-2 scoring run. Stockton’s Joel Green scored 25 points.
