ST. JOHN 30, ELLINWOOD 22
ST. JOHN – St. John’s Keven Neri-Leon scored three touchdowns to rally the Tigers past Ellinwood 30-22 for the second straight year. The Tigers (2-3, 1-0 District) trailed 22-8, but scored the final 22 points.
Neri-Leon scored the game-winner on a 15-yard run after catching a 51-yard TD pass from Eddy Ibarra. Cashe McVey caught a TD pass from Ibarra.
Ellinwood’s Drew Blake scored on a 75-yard kickoff return and a 3-yard run for a 16-8 lead. Landon Rob caught a 19-yard TD pass from Kyler Doll for a 22-8 lead.

OTIS – Otis-Bison tailback Blake Bahr scored six touchdowns and quarterback Anton Foust scored two rushing TDs and threw for three TD passes as the Cougars roared past Wallace County 70-24 in Eight-Man 2, District 6.
Bahr scored on runs of 10, 23, 30, 32, and 47 yards and caught a 38-yard TD pass from Foust. Foust scored on runs of 45 and 47 yards and also completed TD passes to Daniel Scott and Maitland Wiltse. The game ended when Foust’s conversion run followed Bahr’s 47-yard touchdown.
The Cougars (4-1, 1-0 District) rushed for 304 yards and passed for 109 yards. Bahr gained 148 yards and Foust 136 yards. Scott had 10.5 tackles, Landon Hoopingarner 10 tackles and Higgason 9.5 tackles.

REXFORD – Pawnee Heights tailback Kade Scott rushed for five touchdowns and 280 yards in the Tigers’ 52-26 six-man victory over Cheylin.
Pawnee Heights (5-0) is on target to secure the top seed in the 6-man football playoffs.
“We didn’t play our best, but we came back and played good football,” said Jeff Chambers, Pawnee Heights coach. “It’s good for the guys to see they can play better as the game goes along.”
Scott rushed on runs of 4, 14, 18, 46 and 58 yards. He’s rushed for 879 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Gabe Oddo returned an interception for a touchdown and receiver Caleb Karst had two receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown. Dalton Hamby caught a 37-yard TD pass from Trace Baker.

PRATT 35, HOISINGTON 28
HOISINGTON – Defending Class 4A-Division 2 state champion Pratt defeated Hoisington 35-28 in Friday’s Central Kansas League football game. The loss snaps Hoisington’s 21-game home winning streak dating back to a loss to Larned.
Pratt (5-0, 5-0 CKL) rallied from a 28-20 deficit with second-half touchdowns by Landen Studer and all-state tailback Travis Theis. Hoisington (3-2, 2-1 CKL) won the CKL division last year.
“I’m fortunate to coach these guys who fought like that,” said Hoisington coach Zac Baird. “Our guys were fighting and our guys made plays. We made mistakes and you can’t do that against a good football team. Pratt has guys who made plays when we made mistakes.”
The Cardinals scored 22 consecutive points for a 28-20 lead after Sean Urban, Rudy Gearhart and Mason Haxon scored touchdowns. But the Cardinals missed a 2-point conversion on an incomplete pass.
Urban’s score with 45 seconds left in the first half was followed by Gearhart’s interception with 27 seconds left. Haxton capped a 6-minute drive to start the second half.
Sean Urban rushed for 110 yards with two scores.

CANTON – Tailback Alex Hickel scored three touchdowns and quarterback Myles Menges threw two touchdowns to spark Central Plains (4-1, 1-0) past Canton-Galva 60-0 in Eight-Man 1, District 5.
Hickel scored on 13- and 19-yard rushing TDs and caught a 15-yard pass. Dalton Beck, Jacob McAtee, Alex Barton, Menges and Jerred Bieberle also scored TDs. Bieberle and Barton recovered fumbles. Kade Beck intercepted a pass.
