GREENSBURG – Central Plains placed four players in double figures to spark the Oilers to a 64-62 overtime victory over league rival Macksville in the Class 2A Greensburg basketball substate.
Brett Liebl (18), Alex Hickel (17), Alex barton 915) and Devin Ryan (12) scored in double figures. The Oilers outscored the Mustangs 17-14 in the fourth quarter and 10-8 in overtime. The Oilers (17-5) will meet rival St. John (21-1) in Saturday’s championship game for the third time in the past four years.
Macksville (15-7) was paced by Jacob Rein with 27 points and Diego Delgadillo with 16 points. The Mustangs converted nine 3-pointers.

GREESNBURG – No. 1 ranked Class 2A St. John outscored Kiowa County 42-22 after halftime for a 65-44 victory in the Class 2A Greensburg basketball substate.
St. John (21-1) will meet old rival Central Plains (17-5) in Saturday’s substate championship.
Point guard Cole Kinnamon led the Tigers with 17 points and Alexis Valenzuela (11) and Jorge Calleros (10) scored in double figures. The Tigers made 25 free throws.
Henry Cuevas led the Mavericks with 21 points.

INGALLS – Taylor Regan returned from an ankle injury with a 25-point outing to spark the Otis-Bison Cougars past Western Plains 65-27 in the Class 1A-Div. 2 Ingalls basketball substate.
The Cougars (17-4) led 22-11 after one quarter and 38-21 at halftime. Caitlin Schilowsky added 12 points. The Cougars play Ingalls (15-6) in Saturday’s championship game.
