HESSTON — The Ellinwood High School cross country team competed in the Hesston meet on Thursday.
The Ellinwood boys finished in second place with a score of 21, falling behind Wichita Independent by one point.
The girls took third place with 12 points, behind Douglas (3) and Salina Sacred Heart (9).
Ellinwood’s boys were led by Pedro Montoya, who turned in a time of 16 minutes 37.99 seconds.
Hoisington was led by Ryan Becker, who finished with a time of 19:18.52.
Ellinwood’s girls were led by Jenna Snell with a time of 15:33.
Faith Orth, of Central Plains, finished with a time of 18:59, and Katie Willis led Hoisington’s runners with a time of 22:30.
