Macksville High School qualified in seven individual events and one relay for the Class 1A state track and field meet in Wichita on Friday and Saturday.
Macksville competed in Friday’s regional meet in Pretty Prairie.
Adam Oak raked in the most qualifying times with three events — 200-meter dash (23.27 seconds), 110 hurdles (15.03) and 300 hurdles (41.69). Derek Bevan qualified for both the discus and the shot put.
Jack Crotinger qualified for state in the 100 dash for Otis-Bison with a time of 11.64. The Cougars also qualified in the 4x100 relay. Annie Kraisinger, Hannah Bannister and Janel Tammen will be representing the Lady Cougars at the state meet.
St. John will be sending Kevin Norton to state in the 100 dash after he hit a time of 11.19 in Friday’s regional in Pretty Prairie. The Tigers also qualified for the 4x100 relay event.
Daniele Wendland, Taylor Woodward, Haley Falk and Teresa Wade will be competing in the girls’ division for St. John, which will also be sending an entry in the 4x800 relay.
Quivira Heights be competing in the girls’ 4x400 and 4x800 relays as well as the boys’ Javelin. Skyler Turner qualified in the javelin with a heave of 154 feet, two inches.
Stafford qualified Chris Lowe, who cleared 11-6 in the pole vault and Dustin McClure, who had a time of 2:04.68 in the 800 run.
Rachel Wasko qualified in the Discus for Pawnee Heights with a distance of 98-7.
