High school baseball regionals at Larned and Russell have been delayed. The Class 3A Larned baseball regional will start Tuesday, weather permitting.
• The Larned regional will start with Syracuse (11-7) against Ellsworth (8-12) at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Hays-Thomas More Prep (13-5) plays Scott City (3-17) at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The semifinals will be played Wednesday, weather permitting.
• RUSSELL BASEBALL, 4A — The Class 4A-Division 2 Russell baseball regional is scheduled Wednesday. Nickerson (10-8) will play Hoisington-Central Plains (7-11) at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Russell-Victoria (15-5) will play Lyons-Chase (3-17) at 4 p.m. The championship is scheduled at 6 p.m. Russell and Nickerson lost in the regional baseball finals last year.
• GREAT BEND BASEBALL, 5A — Great Bend’s baseball team earned a home regional, thanks to winning a three-way tie. Western Athletic Conference champion Great Bend (16-4) plays Arkansas City (8-12) at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Great Bend Sports Complex. The Panthers won the WAC with a 7-1 record and swept Larned 15-4 and 19-3 to close out the regular season.WAC runner-up Liberal (16-4) plays Maize (14-6) at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The winners play in the championship game at 6 p.m.
• HAYS SOFTBALL, 3A — SW Heights (16-2) Scott City (16-3) are the top seeds at the Thomas More Prep regional. Larned (8-12) resumes a game against Stockton-Plainville (2-16) at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hays.
• HOISINGTON SOFTBALL, 4A-DIV. 2 — Central Kansas League runner-up Haven (16-3) is top-seeded and plays Nickerson (0-16) at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Hoisington-Central Plains (14-6) plays Smoky Valley (9-9) at 4:30 p.m. Hoisington and Haven qualified for state softball last year.
• SALINA SOFTBALL, 2A — The Ellinwood girls (15-3) are seeded second behind Brookville-Ell Saline (19-1) at the Salina regional. Ellinwood meets Salina Sacred Heart (12-8) at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bill Burke Park.
